5 of 5 Best darn Sound Card there is... Friday, October 17, 2008 Bigbobv007 from Howell, New Jersey
I love this card. I upgraded from a SoundBlaster XFi Audio. What a difference in overall sound quality. I play games, music and watch movies with my computer and it was like hearing all of it for the first time with sound quality I had never experienced coming from my speakers or my headphones. I have a 2.1 speaker set up and Zalman headphones. I love this card... Best money I have ever spent next to the Nvidia 280 video card I bought. The combo has made a huge difference in the way I watch and hear my media...no matter what I'm doing. Buy this card!!! It's the best in my opinion...you won't be sorry. Was this review helpful?

For strictly gaming purposes, it more than does its job. With only slight hesitation I'd mention it as the best for its purpose on the present market. However, being a music and audio creation buff, I'm very annoyed at the fact that its hardware and driver configuration leave it LESS useful to me than my old Audigy2 ZS. I'm rather miffed over that and feel a bit ripped off. But the sound quality, at face value, is undeniable. I'm amazed and pleased by the sound. It's a small step up from the Audigy2 ZS in sound quality, but worth it if you're an audio perfectionist. Overall, I'm mildly satisfied with my soundcard situation right now. After I get my 2nd computer set up with the old Audigy2ZS card to do other things with, I might be mostly pleased with what I have. I still hate that this card doesn't have as many driver and hardware options it permanently cripples my opinion of this card. Was this review helpful?

I am not a gamer, so all the comments refer to using this card in the Entertainment mode with Vista operating system.
This is an excellent audio card and if you have a serious ear for music, you will find this card to be very good value for money. The card was easy to install.
Though you do not have to install the Creative Console to use the card, the Creative Console is a polished interface to control all the features of the card. In the entertainment mode, the console looks like a tradional audio amp with a 10 band graphic equalizer, volume, treble and bass |
